In the 1956 Olympics, Tyrolean Toni Sailer is the first ever participant to win all three competitions - Downhill, Slalom, and Giant Slalom - thereby rewriting skiing history. Two years later he wins three world championship titles in Bad Gastein. With three Olympic gold medals, seven world championship titles, and 170 wins, he becomes world famous as the most successful ski athlete of all time and is known afterward as skiing’s first great pop star.
