Berkley Books

Berkley Books® is an imprint of Penguin Group®, which began as an independent company in 1955. Following its publication of Tom Clancy's "The Hunt for Red October", Berkley Books became increasingly interested in publishing military fiction and tecno-thrillers.

Today, Berkley is part of the Penguin Group USA which purchased Putnam in 1996 and prints in mass-market paperback, trade paperback, and hardcover formats. Its major authors have included: Dale Brown, Tom Clancy, Patricia Cornwell, Clive Cussler, Frank Herbert, Dean Koontz, and Nora Roberts.
