Rex's Outrageous

It has been a long road to get to where we are today – with beginnings on dirt roads, then to country roads, to state highways and finally to Interstates with all sorts of speed bumps and detours along the way.

The road began in 2004. After having a few conversations with my Grandmother Jobyna about shipping a load of her Gravel snack mix to VT, of which she refused, she stated "You make it" and proceeded to give me the recipe. I began mixing and haven't stopped. Soon friends were as addicted as I was, and shouts rang out from the masses "You should do something with this!"

And so it began. Soon we were developing new flavors and purchasing bags and labels – all this with no idea of what to call the company or its products. Two years later, while working as the Assistant Town Clerk in the little town of Jericho, VT, I heard a voice from above (the foreman of our road crew) comment on the CB on the wall about the town's road conditions: "The asphalt's peeling over here, we're gonna' need a load of gravel over there, and the mud is pretty bad so . . ."

And the "Ah Ha" moment hit me like a ton of bricks. Asphalt (dark chocolate), Gravel (white chocolate) and Mud (milk chocolate) became a reality. Today, we produce eight Classic Flavors and seven Limited Edition Holiday Flavors.

And off we go. We are traveling the interstates across the country making our presence known on the Ordinary To Outrageous Tour of America. From show to show and store to store, we hope to see you out there. If we don't, follow us around on our blog. And don't forget to Dig In – that's what it's all about!
