Fishing Report January 5, 2026
This is exactly the kind of report we have been hoping to kick off the season with. There is good ice in places from Connecticut up through Maine, with anglers out in force catching just about everything that swims under the ice. River smelt fishing is happening in Maine, splake in Tricky Pond, lake trout, rainbow trout, and yellow perch in Winnipesaukee, and most small ponds are producing. We ran out of live bait over the weekend but are restocked now. Come on in and get geared up!

Fishing Report September 29, 2025
While this is the final report of 2025, fishing opportunities are plentiful for anyone who wishes to keep fishing. As we move into fall, anyone still fishing is reporting some excellent fishing, with a few exceptions. Salmon fishing has slowed down on Winnipesaukee, which is typical for this time of year, as the fish are preparing to spawn. The fishing on Sebago, however, is still great for salmon and lake trout. Bass fishing is heating up and this is one of the best times of the year to fish f

Fishing Report September 22, 2025
Fall is coming in like a lion for most anglers who are still fishing. Lots of striped bass are being caught, but it seems the night bite with live eels has been best based on reports. Panfish, such as crappie and white perch, are beginning to put their fall feed bags on and bass are becoming more active. Many smallmouth bass anglers look forward to fall

Fishing Report September 15, 2025
As fall approaches and hunting seasons open, timely reports get harder to come by. Some, to the dismay of those in the know, trade their fishing gear for hunting gear. Many regard now through November to be some of the best fishing for stripers, salmon, lake trout, and panfish. Cooler water and shorter days trigger stripers to begin migrating back south and they feed very aggressively during their migrations. We hear some smallmouth bass anglers referring to fall as blade bait season. Fish will

Fishing Report September 8, 2025
As schools have gone back, weather is cooling off, and hunting seasons are beginning, fishing reports begin to thin down. Most of our seasonal reporters have wrapped up for the season. That doesn’t mean the fishing is anything other than spectacular. Nighttime striped bass fishing is on fire, with reports of anglers having to quit because they used all the eels they brought, many who caught more than one striper on some of their eels. Lake trout and salmon lakes are hot. With mere weeks l
