Fishing Report March 24, 2025

March 24, 2025 While a few people are still heading far north in New Hampshire and Maine, most anglers have packed in their ice fishing gear and are awaiting open water and trout seasons. Most shops are in transition, or have already transitioned, to open water fishing. It's that limbo time of year that some hate and others need to recharge and recover from busy ice fishing seasons. It is definitely not a time to pack away the ice fishing gear yet but is certainly a time to start thinking about safety again. MAINE: Greg Cutting at Jordan&rs …

Fishing Report February 24, 2025

Winter is still here in New England, much to the surprise of many. Smelt fishing on rivers in Maine and New Hampshire has been steady. Ice reports just about everywhere have been very good, with a few reporting slushy conditions making traveling a bit tough. ATVs and those on foot might want to check with local bait shops for an idea on slush conditions before heading out. Lakes Winnipesaukee and Sebago have seen a fair amount of fishing effort and some good fishing, but the wind has been slowin …
