Fishing Report June 29, 2026
Hot weather is upon us and many fish will be sliding into their summer patterns. Many deem July to be a lull month for fishing, but anglers willing to adjust how they fish, and follow fish as they move deeper, will do well. Striper fishing is still hot, with late spring-like weather pushing the striper patterns a little later. Haddock fishing has picked up off of Jeffrey’s Ledge and Stellwagen Bank. Trout fishing has slowed down for most southern waters, but smallmouth and largemouth bass

Fishing Report June 22, 2026
Summer is officially here and the fish are mostly behaving predictably. Striped bass are seemingly everywhere and sometimes seem to bite almost anything. We are hearing of some great nighttime fishing on live eels, which we just got restocked on. Flounder are still biting, but they are beginning to move out a bit deeper. Stripers have made their way up into the Saco River area. Outside Portsmouth and Hampton Harbors, the Merrimack River, and Boston Harbor are all loaded with Stripers. Salmon and lake trout fishing has slowed a bit over the past week, likely weather related. There are still some trout being caught in cooler rivers and deeper lakes and ponds in central and northern New England. Mountain rivers are your best bet right now. Flounder are biting well and should stay in shallow for another week or two

Fishing Report June 1, 2026
Stripers, flounder, and salmon made up the bulk of this week’s reporting, with a bit of bass fishing mixed in. Everyone is reporting lots of big stripers around, despite recent storms over the last weekend. Reports of flounder, tautog, and big stripers in and around Boston Harbor dominated reports. Plum Island and the Merrimack River are still producing big stripers, but freshwater in the river has slowed some areas and techniques down a bit. Salmon fishing on Sebago, Winnipesaukee, and Wi
