Fishing Report April 21, 2025
Things are picking up. The only real saltwater fishing game right now is haddock and redfish. Stripers are making their way up the coast, but there are some holdovers in front of some of the Massachusetts rivers. As waters warm, fresh fish should arrive. It could be any day now. Trolling for salmon has been very good throughout New England lakes that have them. Many anglers are taking advantage of shallow cruising lake trout to jig and cast to them before they move back out deeper after the smel

Fishing Report April 14, 2025
Fishing reports are much the same as last week. Cool weather has fish and anglers in a bit of a holding pattern, as water temps are about the same. April 1 marked the opening day for salmon and lake trout in many Maine and New Hampshire waters, as long as you can find open water to target them in. New Hampshire Lake trout managed lakes do not permit ice fishing after March 31, so many have put their ice fishing gear away and a

Fishing Report March 24, 2025
March 24, 2025 While a few people are still heading far north in New Hampshire and Maine, most anglers have packed in their ice fishing gear and are awaiting open water and trout seasons. Most shops are in transition, or have already transitioned, to open water fishing. It's that limbo time of year that some hate and others need to recharge and recover from busy ice fishing seasons. That said, check your local regs, because some rivers and smaller ice- free ponds are open year round to fishing.
