Fishing Report June 15, 2026
Ground fishing for haddock and redfish is still good, but striped bass are the talk of the town. June is highly regarded as the best month of the year by most striper anglers. Stop in to see our fishing department staff to get rigged up and don’t forget that we carry live eels! On the freshwater side, New Hampshire’s catch-and-release artificial lure-only season ended on the 15th, so anglers can now switch to popular live crawfish for bait. Fishing Report June 8, 2026
Stripers have made their way up into the Saco River area. Outside Portsmouth and Hampton Harbors, the Merrimack River, and Boston Harbor are all loaded with Stripers. Salmon fishing on Sebago has been excellent this season. Flounder are feeding in the harbors, trout are biting in rivers, ponds, and lakes, and bass are in spawning mode. This coming week, we should see more stripers moving north and into rivers and estuaries.

More summer-like weather has arrived and it seems like every angler is taking advantage of it. Striped bass have continued moving up the New England coast, with really good numbers of big fish being reported. Flounder are finally beginning to bite in Massachusetts waters. Trout fishing remains steady and good. Trolling for salmon and trout has still been productive, despite loads of rain last week. Bass fishing has really kicked off in the past few days with the warmer temps. Expect striper numb
