NASBLA Safe Boating Course - 2019

Kittery Trading Post is pleased to offer The National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) Safe Boating Course in our Katahdin Seminar Room.

Saturday, May 18, 2019 - As of 4/29, this class is filled.
9am-4pm

Course Topics:

  • Proper Operation & Safety (Boating Handling-Equipment-Trailering) = 3 Hours
  • Laws = 30 Minutes
  • Emergencies & Survival (cold water) = 40 Minutes
  • Self Help First Aid = 20 Minutes
  • Passage of a final exam is required

This is a NASBLA approved safe boating course.

Cost of the course is $10.00 per student, due at time of registration. Course is limited to 30 people. To register, please sign up in person at the Customer Service Counter. Registration deadline is  May 15, 2019. For more information please email seminars@ktp.com or call 1-888-KTP-MAINE.

Maine youth 16 or 17 years of age are required to have proof of this course to operate a personal watercraft alone. New Hampshire has a mandatory boating education law. Everyone 16 years of age and older who operates a motorboat over 25 horsepower on New Hampshire waters must have a boating education certificate. Massachusetts youth between 12 and 15 years of age must complete an approved basic boating course in order to operate a motorboat without adult supervision. Youth 16 or 17 years of age must also complete a boating course to operate a jet ski.
