Boker FKMD Kermabit Folding Knife

The FKMD Kerambit is a work knife that has its origin in the Malay-Indonesian archipelago. In the 11th century, it was documented with the ring at the handle end for the first time. Even today, the crescent-shaped blade is used for the knives of fishermen or gardeners.

The ring at the handle end allows for a hands-free working with the knife so you do not need to put it down and also minimizes the danger of losing it. Today, however, the ring is often used for sports, as  in different Filipino martial arts like Pencak Silat or Philipino Kali where the knife is being rotated around the small finger.

A giant chestnut tree, shading the small Boker® tool factory in Remscheid in the 17th century, is the oldest traceable symbol connected with the Boker name. Boker tools were very successful, since they were still among the leading products in Germany and neighboring countries 100 years later.

The famous Boker knives with the tree-brand have been manufactured in Solingen, the German blade-city, since 1869. Since then, no knife has left production without the sign of quality. The history of Boker has been affected by eventful times, but two things remained: Boker's passion and their enthusiasm for extraordinary knives.

Today Boker is renowned all over the word as manufacturer and supplier of an unmatched variety of blade and handle materials and biggest manufacturer in Europe for Sport Knives, Tactical Knives, and Collector's knives.
