The SXR2 is built using a time proven gas piston oprating system that self-adjusts for superior reliabilty and reduces felt recoil — something you'll appreciate when firing magnum cartridges. This design also incorporates a buffer to reduce wear on the components. The gas system operates a strong, seven lug rotary bolt that locks securely to the barrel for superior accuracy and the strength to handle magnum ammunition. Cartridges are fed from an easy to load, detachable box magazine.

This performance-driven blend of established gas operation and quick handling is enhanced through the controls and stock ergonomics. The safety button, bolt release, and bolt handle are large and easy to operate. An aircraft-grade aluminum alloy receiver is lightweight, strong, and drilled and tapped for scope mounts. The included open sights are easy to use and offer fast target acquisition. The fiber-optic front sight is adjustable for both windage and elevation. The walnut stock features a close radius grip for optimal finger to trigger reach and a slight, ambidextrous palm swell. Line-style texturing enhances grip in all conditions and accentuates the modern look of the rifle. Shims are included with the rifle for cast and drop adjustments. A comfortable Inflex II recoil pad reduces felt recoil. Up front, the forearm is also textured for enhanced grip and is tapered for more comfortable grip options.
