Werner Furrer, Sr. started the company today known as Werner Paddles® by constructing a rudimentary paddle years ago out of a wooden curtain rod and a piece of plywood. From there, he and his active family became interested in making kayaks and eventually made their own kayaks, paddles, foot braces, spray skirts, helmets, and even their own life jackets!
