Connecting with Cannon began with its founder, Stu Lee, back in 1983, and the brand has been the occasion of many firsts over the years. Cannon Paddles designed the first aluminum shaft and asymmetrical polymer blade paddle with lightweight shapes, styling, and durability, thus starting a new era for paddles. In time, it was the first brand to produce an array of children's models for both canoes and kayaks.

Environmentally conscious, Cannon recycles all of its scrap aluminum, has used cardboard boxes repeatedly for shipments, and has reduced power usage over 25%.
