Spyderco Meerkat CPM SPY27 PlainEdge Folding Knife

The Meerkat is one of the most novel Spyderco® designs ever produced. Its defining feature is its unique, and sometimes puzzling, Phantom Lock™ mechanism. Similar to a classic scale-release back lock, it is operated by rotating the butt ends of the handle halves in opposite directions to close the blade.

This limited-edition resurrection of the Meerkat design not only makes it available to a new generation of knife fans, but also elevates it with a blade crafted from CPM SPY27. Exclusive to Spyderco, CPM SPY27 is a cobalt-enriched particle metallurgy stainless steel that offers an excellent balance of edge holding, toughness, and corrosion resistance. The full-flat-ground PlainEdge™ blade of this knife capitalizes on all these qualities to deliver cutting performance far beyond its compact size. It's paired with a handle featuring full stainless steel liners, cobalt blue fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle scales, and a deep-pocket wire clip that is reversible for left or right-side tip-down carry.
