They feature a boat tail design to bring hunters the ballistic advantage of match bullets. The streamlined tapered base of the boat tail greatly reduces drag, which results in higher retained velocity, greater striking energy, a flatter trajectory and less wind drift than comparable flat base bullets.

The 130 grain GameKing bullet is a boat tail partner to the 130 grain Pro-Hunter flat base bullet, with both having Spitzer point shapes. Like its partner, this GameKing bullet has a double taper jacket construction for good penetration and dependable expansion on medium game, together with traditional Sierra accuracy. Accurate hunting rifles firing this bullet near maximum loads frequently give half minute of angle groups. The 130 grain SBT is well suited to long-range shooting where its high ballistic coefficient, flat trajectory, and excellent energy retention complement its inherent accuracy.
