Nosler Model 48 Long-Range Carbon 300 Winchester Magnum 26 3-Round Rifle zoom in

Nosler Model 48 Long-Range Carbon 300 Winchester Magnum 26" 3-Round Rifle

The Nosler® Model 48 Long-Range Carbon™ includes all of the same features that made the Model 48 Long Range a success with the addition of a Proof Research™, carbon fiber-wrapped, match-grade barrel. By combining precision machining with space-age materials technology, the Proof barrel reduces the overall weight of the rifle while providing the utmost accuracy and durability. Proof’s carbon fiber-wrapped barrels are not only lighter, they are stiffer, and dissipate heat better than traditional stainless barrels for enhanced accuracy, shot after shot. Precisely mated to a trued and faced Model 48 receiver and bedded in a Manners® MCS-carbon fiber stock, the Proof barrel brings space-age technology to your next hunting rifle.

The Model 48 LR-Carbon is an excellent choice for mountain hunting, backcountry excursions, and long range competition. Born in the wide-open expanses of the west, the Model 48 Long Range Carbon is perfect for any situation where ranges may be long, and weight is a concern.

In the fall of 1946, a stubborn, mud-caked Canadian moose failed to go down, despite a well placed shot from John Nosler's 300 H&H. On the way home from that trip, John started thinking about a way to make a bullet that would perform well every time, no matter what the size of the game or the shot angle.

Over the next year, he experimented with bullet design, finally settling on a unique, dual core bullet that was really the first Partition®. The following fall, John and his friend, Clarence Purdie, both killed moose with one shot using John's new bullet. In 1948 the Nosler Partition Bullet Company was formed.

Over the years, many innovations and bullet designs followed including Solid Base®, Partition-HG™, Custom Competition™, AccuBond®, and the award-winning E-Tip®.

Nosler® - dedication and development for hunters, by hunters.
