We're excited to announce the launch of KTP In The Wild, a new monthly series offering FREE, hands-on opportunities to learn and build confidence in a wide range of outdoor skills. In collaboration with our knowledgeable vendor partners and our own employees, each month will spotlight a new topic to explore in the field. This series will highlight KTP’s leadership in the outdoor space by developing expertise, fostering collaboration, and enhancing the real-world knowledge we bring to our customers.
Catching Stripers Through The Water Column
CLASS FULL • May 16 • 3-6pm
Join us for a hands-on surf day for May’s installment of KTP In The Wild! This event is designed to teach anglers how to properly fish artificial lures for striped bass from the beach. Participants will learn techniques for fishing at different depths—from topwater to bottom—while gaining confidence in selecting and using the right lures for changing conditions. We will meet at KTP for a short classroom session led by knowledgeable KTP employees and then caravan to a nearby beach for further instruction.
*Participants must have a valid Maine fishing license*
Limited equipment is available: participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing equipment/tackle, waders and cleats.

Mt. Agamenticus Hike
June 7 • 9am-12pm
This event is designed to increase knowledge of day hiking, including the importance of appropriate footwear. Explore the scenic trails of Mt. Agamenticus on a guided hike with knowledgeable KTP employees.
Please come prepared for changing weather conditions, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water.
Merrell will be outfitting us with hiking shoes. Please include shoe size with sign-up!

Foraging Hike With Foraging for Change

Join us for an off-site foraging hike to focus on safe plant identification, sustainable harvesting practices, and common cooking and storage techniques. Along the way we’ll discuss plant ecology, traditional uses, and simple ways to incorporate wild plants into meals.
By the end of the class, you’ll have the confidence to recognize several edible species and begin incorporating wild foods into your kitchen.
Wear sturdy shoes, insect repellant and sun protection, and bring water.
