It’s great to hear so many reports of excellent fishing with the weather as warm as it has been. We aren’t hearing of any signs of mid-summer doldrums as of yet. Striped bass fishing remains steady, although warmer waters have fish moving to some different locations in search of cooler water.

We hope you all had a nice July 4th weekend. Fishing reports are still really good across New England. The stripers are still thick, but we are hearing that warmer river water temps are pushing the majority of fish out.

For most anglers, this is a summer to remember. We are still hearing of excellent striper fishing, but fewer haddock reports, which could just be the weather. The freshwater reports are all positive, with great catches reported for lake trout and salmon, and a few anglers jigging up lake trout.

Besides last weekend, great weather has meant great fishing for most. There are some questionable areas, like around Plum Island, where they are struggling with varied water temps, but the fish are still there and some nice ones. Most everyone is catching stripers right now, with many 40-inch plus fish reported regularly
