Mepps
Mr. Andre Meulnart designed the first Mepps, and what is commonly referred to as the original French spinner, in 1938. He named his creation the Aglia®, which is Latin for butterfly. Since then there have been tens of millions of Mepps produced, and they remain one of the most lures for a wide variety of species.
Freshwater spinnerbaits and buzzbaits are dynamic lures that excel at attracting and enticing fish. Spinnerbaits feature a metal blade that spins as it's retrieved, creating flash and vibrations to mimic the movement of baitfish. They come in various blade shapes, sizes, and colors, allowing anglers to match the forage and water conditions. Spinnerbaits are highly effective for targeting bass, pike, and muskie, among other species. Buzzbaits, on the other hand, are surface lures with a spinning blade on the top that creates a buzzing sound and wakes as it skims across the water's surface. This action triggers aggressive strikes from bass and other surface-feeding fish. Both spinnerbaits and buzzbaits are versatile and reliable tools in a freshwater angler's arsenal, providing thrilling action and success on the water.
