Firearms Hunter Safety Skills & Exam Day
**THIS COURSE IS OPEN TO MAINE RESIDENTS ONLY**
Kittery Trading Post is pleased to offer our Maine Hunter Safety (Firearms) Course. The course is free and open to Maine residents. By Maine state law, individuals must complete a hunter education course prior to buying a basic hunting (firearms) license, or be able to show a previously issued license of the same type. If you would like to refresh your knowledge of safe and responsible hunting, then taking a hunter education course is a great idea.
YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE PORTION OF THE CLASS PRIOR TO REGISTERING FOR THE AUG. 12 SKILLS & EXAM DAY.
The Online Course requires that students complete the knowledge portion of the course online followed by attendance at a skills and exam day which is about 7 hours. Students complete quizzes and an exam and are provided with a voucher to attend the Skills & Exam Day upon completion of the online exam. Students must complete the online course and provide a voucher number to register for the Skills & Exam Day. Students must also bring the voucher to the first class. Please visit www.hunter-ed.com/maine to complete the online portion of the course. Warning! Passing the online course does not guarantee you a spot at the Skills & Exam Day.

THIS IS THE SKILLS & EXAM SESSION for obtaining your Hunter's Education Firearms Card. In the Skills & Exam session, students must demonstrate to the instructor that they can safely handle a firearm, participate in activities, bring in a complete survival kit with appropriate contents and pass a 50 question test with a grade of at least 70%. After attending and passing the Skills & Exam Day portion of the hunter education requirement, you will receive your Hunter Education Firearms Card.
All of KTP's Hunter Safety courses are team taught. This course is led by John Klosenski. The team includes seasoned KTP staff instructors Dana Poole and Gary Rohm.
The Firearms Safety Course (Skills & Exam Day) at Kittery Trading Post is limited to 40 people. To register, please sign up in person at the Customer Service Counter and present your voucher showing completion of the online portion of the course.
