The Traverse® sleeping bag is Sea to Summit's® most versatile bag, designed for a broad range of activities in a variety of environments. It's filled with 850+ loft European goose down that is protected by Sea to Summit's patent pending 3D NanoShell®.
Designed with a relaxed mummy shape, the Traverse offers comfort in the widest range of temperatures. With the ability to be opened out into a full duvet when sleeping in huts, or zippered up for winter camping in sub zero conditions, it can be used year round.
The oversized neck-collar and hood-seal keep drafts out, minimizing heat loss around the face. The oversized zipper draft tube is fitted with the lightest and stiffest anti-snag material, for smooth operation. A security pocket located inside the bag is easily accessible, ideal for stowing electronics to preserve battery performance in extreme cold.
Using a side block baffle construction to maintain a 60 / 40 fill ratio, more down is located in the top of the bag for maximum insulation.
The Traverse is a great choice for trekking the Annapurna circuit in the Himalayas, ski touring hut to hut in the Alps, and walking the Western Arthurs in Tasmania.

Following a successful 1984 climb up the north face of Mount Everest, one of the summiteers, Tim Macartney-Snape decided to return six years later so that he could do what no one else had done - climb it starting from sea level, that is from "sea to summit".
For this trip, in 1990, Tim swam in India's Bay of Bengal and then set off on foot across the Gangetic plain toward the distant Himalayan foothills and four months later, set foot once again on the highest point on earth. Tim's solo ascent of Mt. Everest was named the "Sea to Summit" expedition.
Back in Australia, he joined forces with friend Roland Tyson to build a business that could make use of their knowledge of the outdoors to create truly ingenious, well-made but affordable outdoor equipment. They named their company Sea to Summit® after Tim's expedition and the business prospered. Today the Sea to Summit brand continues to provide innovative gear and serves a growing band of outdoor enthusiasts all over the world.
