 | Inspired by the legendary African city, Timbuktu, and a popular indie band, Timbuk3, Timbuk2® got its start in 1989 when a San Francisco bicycle messenger, a used Singer® sewing machine, and an idea came together in perfect harmony.
By 1996, the company had moved out of its founder’s basement, had hired full-time sewers, and had incorporated a popular “build your own bag” concept.
